Hair Pin Curls

As women we wear so many different hats and we want to have good looking hair while carrying out those duties, right? There is nothing worse than having a fresh set of curls but only getting to wear them for a day.  How do we maintain our curls? Lets see we can roll our hair, flexi rod our hair or buy bonnets and silk scarves but sometimes these things can get expensive. If you are like me I'm always trying to save a dime and pinch a penny so I decided to pin curl my hair.
It cost me only $1 to purchase those hair pins and I loved how my curls turned out. Also, while I slept I was not bothered by rollers sticking me in my head and I could lay flat on my pillow.

Stay tuned, I will continue to bring you beauty secrets for less.

Hawt Mama

So,  I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl December 13th, 2013 and every since I been fighting to get back into my pre-pregnancy wardrobe. I know it took me nine months to gain the baby weight (35lbs) so I shouldn't be in such a rush to lose it in two months but my clothes are calling my name. I never knew how easy it could be to totally forget about yourself while caring for a newborn until the shoe was on my foot! lol I almost fell into some mom jeans and had to snap out of it real quick!
This is me on my 22nd birthday, about a week ago and I decided to pull out some cute jeans to compliment my new mom shape and show a little mid-drift. This outfit was tricky considering I just had a baby and people kept asking me "So you're going to wear your stomach out?" Gosh, its just a little drift and for 2014 I decided to dress how I feel instead of worrying about what other people think or over thinking an outfit.

My jeans were purchased from Target for only $25. I toned the outfit down by adding a scarf which I purchased from Walmart (only $5) and a cute blazer from Forever 21 that was on clearance of course. Those knee high boots were  really suppose to be thigh high but I'm still carrying around some baby weight so I pulled them up as far as I could...no shame in my game. I thought the boots looked nice to have come from Chernins, yes the $9.99 shoe store! So, to all my new and old mommies toss out those mom jeans and keep it chic on a budget.

Plus Size VS Maternity Clothes

Lately, It has been harder to find clothes to go over my big belly so I decided to look in the plus size section and I found this cute high-low blouse. I have so much love-hate for this shirt for many reasons. I love this shirt for the length, usually high-lows aren't that low in the back and I absolutely love the color not to mention it matched my pumps perfect but it was too big at the top. Mainly because this shirt is meant for a bigger woman to fill out the top and not just someone who has a pregnant belly. The blouse was only $7 from Rainbow so I couldn't resist buying it and the cute studded collar made it even more of a steal but I felt a lil self consicious knowing the arms space was really wide. So that was one of the downfalls of shopping plus while pregnant. I know maternity clothes are designed to add that extra space for the belly but there too expensive for my taste. I will continue to look on line and in stores for reasonable priced maternity clothes because I'll be needing pants pretty soon! Overall, I think I pulled this look off but I will be careful next time I purchase a plus size shirt.

Pumps are from Charlotte Russe. Buy 1, get 1 for $15

Wealth & Success VIP Dinner

I am involved with a company called IT WORKS and last night I was invited to a working dinner party. The attire was "after five" and I was a little worried about what I was going to wear considering my bump but I was able to pull something together for less. J C Penny has good quality clothes and they're always having a sale so I knew I would find something nice for this event. My dress was originally $60 which is steep for me but it was 30% off and then right before my eyes the sale's associate came and switched the sale sign to 50% off! At first I thought the sale was over but she explained to me every friday from 3pm- saturday 1pm is there door buster sale where all merchandise in the store goes on sale 50-70% off. So my dressed was only $30 and I was able to use a coupon and purchase other items. This was a life saver for me and maybe JCP can help you in the midst of a crunch time. lol

Forman Mills Trendy

I like to think of myself as a "hot mama" since I been pregnant and I feel its only right that I dress to uphold that title! LOL Last friday, I went to my boyfriend's fight and not only did I want to look hot for him but show other expecting moms there is no problem being sexy, pregnant, and staying on a budget of course. So I rocked my tribal print peplum dress that I had been dying to sport but I was afraid I was to pregnant to wear it. Like always I got over my fears and dressed up how I felt best, not to mention I scored this dress for only $12.99 at Forman Mills. People constantly judge Forman Mills but I always find whatever is trending at the best price.

I decided to pair this mini dress with my thigh high boots because it was chilly that night (Michigan weather changes like the wind) and I didn't want to expose my legs considering how short my dress was. I purchased my boots from Bakers before all of there stores went out of business in Michigan. My boots were originally priced at $200 but was on sale for $80, yes I won! I believe there is always room for a pop of color so I tossed on my fav red blazer that was thrifted for $6 to complete my look and stay warm.

While I was at the fight my family could not believe what I was wearing and someone even stated I played it too close with my thigh high boots, but I felt sexy and comfortable. If you are pregnant it could be hard finding something that is comfortable and appealing but once you've found that right outfit stick to it. People will judge you if you are a hot mama or if you look like a miserable preggo regardless so do whats best for you.

Simple Skirt Fit

This outfit is so simple but cute, less is better sometimes and it was on a budget of course. Earlier this day I had on a sheer shirt with this denim skirt and I was burning up hot. The sheer shirt was long sleeved but I thought because of the material I would be fine but I was not (pregnancy problems.) So, I dipped into Deb , where I have not shopped at in forever but I was sure I would find a cute and inexpensive top and I was right. I found this cute white crop top for only $5 and all of Deb's clearance tops were only $5. So be sure to stop by the Deb in your neck of the woods. My acid wash denim skirt was another Dots find and I've had it for a while so I'm not sure of the price but im sure it was on sale. This is suppose to be a waist skirt but I pulled it over my preggo belly to make it a high waist skirt, a lil tip for all my pregnant fashionista's out there.
I got a couple compliments about my denim sandals that I purchased from  Forever 21. I love Forever 21 because their prices are reasonable and then they'll have there cheap cheap items like these sandals, only($8.88). So boom there you have it another fit for less!

Cute and Pregnant

So, I haven't blogged in forever but I'm back and I'm still sharing how to pull together cute outfits for less. Whether I'm shopping on the clearance rack, hitting up a garage sale, or going to your local thrift store, I will get that look for less and I want you to do the same! Currently I am pregnant (4 months) and pants are just not comfy anymore, so you'll be seeing me in dresses alot.

Today, I rocked this comfy strapless maxi dress that I've had forever. I think I purchased it from Dots. I decided to layer it with this cute buttton up shirt to accent my baby bump and so I wouldn't look so plain jane.  My shirt and sandals both came from Rainbow. People alway hate on Rainbow clothes and say "There clothes and shoes look cheap" but I'm starting to see some of the same items in there as in other trendy fashion stores for less. Stores often change their merchandise to compete with bigger retail stores, so you'll be surprised how alot of stores are stepping their game up!

What you think about today's OOTD? I wanna hear from you!
